Together, we're creating a Universe of fun, always ensuring the next thing we do is better than the last thing we did.JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for Resort Wide interior design and management for new or renovated projects with Universal Creative/UPR international projects.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate Park Wide project interior standards. Assures design integrity and keeps the process on course, by overseeing reviews of the consultants and vendors drawings, reviewing specifications for materials and furnishings to make sure meets the high standards of Universal and the participating Joint Venture Partners. Reviews every item included in the FF&E budget for quality assurance by referencing and comparing to the specifications. Serves as central contact person regarding the interior design on the project. Consolidates questions from consultants, contractors, and vendors regarding what they are designing, building, and the progress or resolution of specific issues to coordinate consistent park wide solutions. Interfaces with clients (i.e. partnerships, operations for the parks/hotels, governmental agencies) and internal stakeholders (Technical/Creative/Operations) for the common goals of project intent, quality control and integration of Park Wide standards.Directs the layout of BOH facilities with specific and detailed design phases. Manages phases of schematic design through construction documents in coordination with interdisciplinary project team. Interfaces with the creative team/project management team during and at the completion of each phase to validate design intent and cost targets. Coordinate all phases of design as a participating member of and overseeing the in house interiors team to develop the design direction for BOH interior projects. Design phases will address BOH facilities throughout, site impact, spatial adjacencies, operational requirements, International and Local building codes and FFE budgets. Works within the team environment to establish and maintain common cost/schedule/quality goals.Directs, in collaboration with the Land Director, in house Interior Design staff during design phases from concept through project administration to ensure common goals, practices, process and procedures and quality standards. Prepares and presents interior designs for Universal Executive or Joint Venture Partnership. Reviews Consultants and vendor contracts prepared by contract department to ensure the consultant's scope of work includes all aspects of work required and verifies the percentage of completion for billing purposes. Attends / participates in teamwork sessions.Participate in Industry events, forums and conferences.Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Responsible for Resort Wide interior design and management for new or renovated projects with Universal Creative/UPR international projects.Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree from an accredited Four-year college or university in: Interior Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or related field required. Master's degree in Interiors or Architecture preferred.EXPERIENCE:10+ years comprehensive/integrated discipline project managerial experience required. 10-15 years of experience within commercial interior design field required. 5-10 years resort, hospitality, and theme park experience is required.
