Job summary
The Major Events Manager oversees and manages all major fundraising and donor events.They are responsible for event development, planning, coordination, and post-event operations.They work closely with funders, board committees, and vendors to ensure event success.

Responsibilities
• Manage logistics and implementation of special and fundraising events.• Oversee event set-up, coordination of registrations, and vendor requirements.• Coordinate with different departments within the organization for major events.• Create budgets and provide financial analysis for programs and events.• Manage procurement and contracting processes for each major event.• Coordinate with board committees for procurement and budgeting needs.• Participate in management meetings and provide leadership for major events.• Support post-event evaluation efforts and generate reports.• Manage seasonal, part-time, and student workers as well as volunteers for events.• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
Requirements
• Experience managing large public events.• Basic knowledge of UGA building operations and support systems.• Experience improving visitor experiences and customer service.• Skills in Microsoft systems including Teams, Excel, and Word.• Knowledge of UGA procurement and P-Card processes.• Ability to lift containers weighing 50-75 pounds.• Ability to spend time sitting, squatting, standing, and moving tables and chairs.• Ability to work long hours, perform repetitive motions, and work in noisy and hot/cold environments.• Valid driver's license and ability to drive for job-related duties.
