Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Superintendent for a direct hire role with an organization based out of Beaverton, OR. Training will occur in Beaverton, OR and Gresham, OR. After training, you will spend the next 3-5 years supporting an upcoming major commercial project in Washougal, WA.
Pay: $110,000-$140,000/year base
Commercial Construction Superintendent Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture and ensure proper safety behavior by investigating safety incidents.
Provide management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow, coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors.
Monitor construction schedule performance, investigating reasons for less-than-satisfactory results.
Work with the team in leading various meetings including daily standup, weekly trade meetings, weekly safety meetings, etc.
Create, manage, update, and implement the project's complete master construction schedule, working with the project owner, project management, and subcontractors as required.
Develop draft schedules, logistics plans, and manpower charts during the pre-construction process.
Work with the team to ensure all permits are in place and work closely with local inspectors, maintaining good working relationships.
Track and monitor project budget and costs.
Plan project strategies, handle unexpected issues and delays, and create effective solutions to problems as they come up.
Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
Follow the project filing and documentation organization system as dictated for the project and update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks as required.
Work with the team to prepare and negotiate cost estimates, budgets, work timetables, and constructability assessments.
Manage material and equipment needs for the project.
Ensure quality compliance through use of specifications, setting quality standards, in–house QA/QC, and outside resources.
Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for their assigned project.
Work with team to ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented.
Commercial Construction Superintendent Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in the construction industry as a superintendent (or similar), with at least 5 years of commercial construction industry experience.
Experienced in the construction management of commercial retail (including specialty retail such as restaurants), office, and multifamily housing.
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet), project management software (Procore or similar), plan view software
(Bluebeam)
Willingness to travel locally. The office is located in Beaverton, OR, the current job site is in Gresham, OR, and the upcoming job site is in Washougal, WA.
A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
Possess a current driver's license and a safe driving record; must be able to be insured to drive
company vehicles.
