. Job Description
Nevada State University (NS) invites applications for the position of Student Worker - CTLE - Event and Training Assistant. The student worker will provide training support to the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) and customer service for faculty who participate in CTLE programs and activities. Training on the core responsibilities listed below will be provided to assist in independent completion of tasks.

Core Responsibilities:
Training Creation
* Caption ADA-compliant recorded training to meet ADA standards*
* Assist in ensuring documents are accessible and ADA compliant*
* Assist in updating technical guides in alignment with software updates and use*
* Coordinate efforts for getting students more involved and obtaining feedback and suggestions from students on innovative teaching and learning activities.
* Training will be provided to the student worker in meeting ADA standards, using the software platform, and creating technical guides. All final materials will be reviewed by a full-time employee to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Event Management
* Assist with event management and advertising for CTLE events, including creation of flyers, etc.
* Maintain accurate excel documents for attendance for all CTLE events.
* Collect and summarize comments from student and faculty feedback forms/surveys.
Administrative/Clerical
* Provide support for the CTLE staff projects or tasks as assigned.
* Assist in generating annual and other data reports.
* Participate in CTLE Team meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
* Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NS does not sponsor employment-related visas).
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise diligence with confidential information and materials.
* Proficient with the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
* Demonstrated ability to provide customer service.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions, often of technical nature.
* Ability to prioritize multiple duties and projects to meet established deadlines.
* Ability to meet prescribed procedures and standards with minimal supervision.
* Ability to operate standard office machines.
* Detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
* Familiar with the use of Power Point, Excel, Adobe, Canva, and other content authoring tools.
* Strong understanding of grammatical mechanics to edit copy materials.
* Work experience in an office setting.
* Experience assisting with events/meetings.
Work Hours:
This position will work 10 to 19.5 hours per week. Student employees can work up to 19.5 hours per week.
Hourly Rate:
$13.25 per hour.
