Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will apply knowledge of welding processes, welding design, metallurgy, nondestructive and destructive testing, and welding quality control to support Product Teams' welding activities.
AS A WELDING ENGINEER, YOU WILL: Serve as the site weld coordinator by applying metallurgy/welding experience and industry standards to develop and deploy defined programs. Collaborate with functional groups at multiple manufacturing sites to promote global product manufacturing consistency. Identify any health or safety concerns related to welding equipment or technology. Recognizes precautions to avoid potential injury. Oversee Welding Procedure and Personnel Qualifications Ensure processes and quality systems meet program requirements. Interact frequently with suppliers and vendors on welding/metallurgy properties to resolve product quality concerns. Support site NDT requirements. Participate in the qualification and documentation of new or changed products, process, and purchased materials. WHO YOU ARE: You express yourself in a credible and transparent manner. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 0 to 2 or more years of relevant experience Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Welding Engineer or Metallurgical Engineer degree is preferred Equipment selection and set-up, welding design, and/or welding manufacturing experience Experience with manual and automatic welding process, including GTAW and resistance welding Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) Experience with ASME and ISO welding qualification standards.
