The Dispatcher directs activities related to dispatching and managing the tour loop and charters in the transportation operations. Ensure trolleys are progressing timely in the tour loop with minimum delays. As ridership increases or decreases, add or remove trolleys in the loop. The Dispatcher requires a good sense of safety, responsibility to lead others with the ability to motivate staff, and promote a harmonious workplace.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Maintain radio contact with conductors, responding to urgent codes without delay Ensure trolleys are progressing timely in the tour loop with minimum delays. Add/remove trolleys in the loop as ridership levels change to ensure the most effective use of vehicles and conductor staff. Assist Head Conductor in preparing the conductor scheduled and vehicle assignments Follow all company safety directives, Department of Transportation and local and state laws/regulations Ability to stand for long periods of time and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Must have a high degree of self-motivation and must be able to work independently or as part of a team Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to any problems that may arise Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow employees, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel. Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure Must be computer literate Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred Experience with dispatching vehicles in a sightseeing tour loop preferred. Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable and verifiable driving record of at least three years Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) checks Successful candidate must undergo a drug test and a background search
