Who are we looking for?
The ideal VP of Commercial Lending will have a 4-year bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of related lending experience Someone who has professional, well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills Someone who has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, balance competing requests, and prioritize appropriately Someone with the ability to communicate among a broad spectrum of credit union personnel What are some of the key responsibilities of the VP of Commercial Lending?
Responsible in the creation and implementation of business development plans that establish short- and long-term growth strategies, including research and development of new products and programs, pricing strategies, and targeting new geographic regions across the state of Michigan. Monitor the commercial member experience, loan portfolio performance and adjust origination, processing, underwriting and procedures to ensure an excellent service model and appropriate risk and yield to advance the credit union's strategic growth goals. Establish individual and departmental goals aligned with the credit union's strategic plan. Monitor the commercial lending market and competitive environment to identify opportunities and threats. Ensure lending products meet members needs and comply with government guidelines. Lead portfolio management activities including reviews, renewals, and modifications. Implement best practices for risk assessment and underwriting. Analyze loan requests and financial statements to assess creditworthiness. Oversee configuration and maintenance of commercial lending software. Manage relationships with Credit Union Service Organizations and vendors. Develop and execute promotions to attract new business. Mentor staff and evaluate department performance. Analyze data to identify trends and recommend strategic actions. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Represent the credit union at community events. This position will report to the Chief Growth & Lending Officer So, what's in it for you?
