JOB LOCATION: Designing for a Truss Manufaturing Plant in St. George, UT. Potential for remote work for someone living in Utah or Idaho.
STATUS: Fulll - T ime, Salary
FUNCTION : D esign truss layouts i n accoradance to client specifications and Sunpro business objectives .
KEY ACTIVITIES: Visualize, fulfill , and implement the company vision and cor e values . Design roof and floor trusses using MiTek software and ensuring designs are accurate , optimized , and conforms to standards . Generate and provide accurate pricing and material quantities for estimating purposes . Generate truss placement layouts for final construction . Reading and interpreting architechrual and structural blueprints . Co mmuniate with customers , salesmen , architechts , and engineers to insure accura cy of design of trusses. Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested . Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required . Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures . Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Knowledge of floor and roof truss design process . Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints . Ability to calculate tributary loads, concentrated loads, and load transfer through a building . Knowledge of current local codes associated with truss design . Good written and oral communication skills , especially with customers . Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience . 2+ years experience in truss industry . Experience using MiTek, Alpine, InteliBuild , or ITW software preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sedentary work: e xtended periods of sitting. Lif t ing up to 50 lbs occasionally. Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment. Visit jobsites occasionally.
