As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and process oversight for the Accounts Payable function including managing and directing all aspects of the Company's invoice management process.  This role will be responsible for providing direction to associates regarding their role and responsibilities to help meet the overall Company objectives along with empowering and promoting the proper level of responsibility and authority to achieve the overall department objectives while ensuring quality and accuracy.
Lead and Manage 6 - 8 direct reports of the AP team, including assigning tasks, setting goals, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviews.Oversees the recording and payment of all invoices in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitor, assess, and implement internal controls, accounting / reporting procedures, and special report preparation related to disbursements and working capital managementMaintain effective communication and relationships with vendors to resolve any payment issues or disputes.  Serve as the point of contact and relationship manager for key strategic partners and vendors.Proactively partner across business functions to facilitate:Effective and timely processing of transactions,Provide critical operating information updates,Keep current on Blain's business developments that may impact areas of responsibility, andCreate effective cross-functional communications and teamworkDevelop and implement management processes that:Ensure technical competence of all positions within Accounts Payable area and provide necessary training, development support, and coachingEstablish and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus that ensures prompt, accurate and responsive services, recording, and reporting leveraging available technologyEstablish relevant Accounts Payable metrics, and implement methods and procedures for tracking and reporting on identified key performance indicators (KPI's)Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close activities; assist with external audit by preparing necessary reports and documentationMonitor and maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations for all Accounts Payable financial transactionsEnsure all annual 1099-related forms are processed, reported to the government, and provided to suppliers in compliance with reporting deadlinesResponsible for the oversight and administration of the expense management solution in compliance with company policyBachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of progressive and relevant Accounts Payable experience including at least 3 years of supervisory experienceExperience working with ERP SolutionsERP implementation experience preferredExhibits strong understanding of accounting principles and best practicesDemonstrated, effective team leadership skills including the ability to delegate responsibility and manage support staffExcellent interpersonal, listening, and leadership skills along with the ability to work with associates at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to identify and lead process improvement initiativesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be a self-starter and effectively balance multiple priorities at the same timeDetail oriented with strong problem solving / analytical skills.  Ability to proactively identify and develop effective solutions.High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs to include Excel, Word and Outlook Blain Supply, Inc and Blain's Farm and Fleet (collectively "Blain's") is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
