Job Title: Thermoforming Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thermoforming Expert to join our team in a full-time capacity. This individual will not only possess a deep understanding of thermoforming processes but will also be a degreed engineer capable of providing technical expertise and guidance across multiple sites and vendor transitions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), with a focus on developing and implementing standard work for setup, changeover, and spare parts management.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical authority on thermoforming processes, equipment, and technologies.
Lead and support multi-site and vendor transitions related to thermoforming operations, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruptions.
Develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies, including setup and changeover standard work, to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide training and mentorship to site personnel on thermoforming best practices, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures.
Establish and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, suppliers, and external partners to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Drive spare parts management initiatives, including inventory optimization, sourcing, and procurement, to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
Conduct thorough root cause analyses and troubleshooting of thermoforming equipment issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to thermoforming operations, ensuring compliance at all times.
Act as a subject matter expert on thermoforming-related projects, providing technical guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in thermoforming operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, with a track record of implementing TPM programs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-site transitions.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation related to thermoforming equipment.
Solid understanding of spare parts management principles and practices, including inventory control and supplier management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Willingness to travel as needed to support site transitions and vendor engagements.
Relevant certifications in thermoforming or related fields are a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, high temperatures, and moving machinery.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing as needed.
