DCOMM is seeking a skilled and experienced Telecom Construction Field Supervisor to oversee and manage our telecommunications construction projects in the field. As a Telecom Construction Field Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading teams of construction workers and sub-contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with project managers, vendors, clients/customers, municipal engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Responsibilities: · Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work on strict deadlines.
· Monitoring construction processes in the field
· Always ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
· Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
· Assisting with the training of new staff.
· Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.
· Ensure all work is entered into field management software such as Penguin
· Acknowledge work approvals in field management software (Penguin/Asana etc)
· Provide timely and accurate routing of daily workload which could include aerial, underground or MDU type work
· Troubleshoot any build-out issues in the field prior to work initiation.
· Assist with contractor invoicing and Vendor Management
· Verify contractors are meeting safety standards, PPE, vehicle safety and field safety
· Perform QA inspections on the work completed for all projects
· Assist with the investigation of damage claims and help resolve them in a timely manner
· Assist with weekly team meetings with emphasis on safety and quality
· Monitor W2 Headcount and Perform daily or weekly review of technician time sheets
· Ability to work on-call rotation or emergency situations on a scheduled basis
· Conduct weekly vehicle and tool inspections per company established guidelines
· Monitor inventory weekly - Usage, excess & waste
· Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
Requirements: · High school diploma/GED or equivalent
· Driving is a requirement for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
· Willingness to answer calls and engage resources during scheduled on call rotation's with the likelihood of field visits for outages.
· Ability to climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. and use bucket truck when necessary
· Working knowledge of construction machines such as trencher, mini-excavator, directional bore rigs and Bucket trucks.
· Knowledge of city codes for underground work such as permits, restoration, traffic control and locates.
· Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
· Able to work outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment. Position may involve extensive walking during the day
· Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
· Understanding of Telco print maps and their symbols
· Experience reading and/or making as built documents.
Minimum Qualifications: · 3+ years of telecom field experience in either an Aerial or underground capacity (Both Preferred)
· 1+ years' experience in OSP Construction or engineering/maintenance
· Clear understanding of RF theory/Signal loss for both Light and RF
· Understanding of test equipment such as Viavi ONX SLM and OTDR
Desired Qualifications · Telecom leadership experience 1+ Years
· Associates degree in Broadband distribution or related field
· Industry recognized certifications such NCTI master/senior master tech or SCTE BTS/BDE
· OSHA 10/OSHA 30
