Position Summary
As a Tech Support Specialist 2 - Special Programs, the role encompasses a diverse range ofresponsibilities, including the maintenance and troubleshooting of specialized STEM equipmentsuch as Laser Engravers, CNC Routers, 3D printers, Virtual Reality (VR) systems, and various STEM software applications. Collaborating closely with the STEM department, the Specialist ensures the seamless operation of these advanced tools and software, supporting a myriadofeducational and research endeavors. Additionally, the Specialist provides essential support forSpecial Education (SPED) assistive technology, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for alllearners, including those with diverse needs. Managing SPED systems is another crucial aspect
of the role, ensuring smooth operation to accommodate students with varying learningrequirements. Moreover, the Tech Support Specialist II collaborates with District Technology,Teaching and Learning, and the Special Education Department to align initiatives, standards,and resources, fostering an inclusive learning environment and advancing educationalopportunities for students across mainstream and specialized programs alike. By combiningtechnical expertise with a commitment to accessibility and interdisciplinary collaboration, this position plays a pivotal role in supporting student success and educational advancement.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $65,000 depending on qualitifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: Assists the Systems Administrator I in the development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of district IT assets.
Provides second-level support for troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
Work with building technology support staff to facilitate repairs and deployments of devices.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide technical support and solutions.
Provide training and support to end-users to ensure efficient and effective use of technology resources.
May be involved with various educational technology systems with deployment or user management.
Log, track and prioritize support requests using the ticketing system. Ensure timely resolution of reported issues within the established service level agreements.
Collaborate with Systems Administrator I's to address user related system issues.
Assist in routine system monitoring and maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Systems Administrator 1or 2.
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the knowledge base articles within our ticketing system.
Communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical users.
Participate in IT projects and teams as a contributing member.
Participates in district in-service, workshops, and meetings as directed.
All employees of District 194 will promote and represent site safety by performing their job in a manner that reflects any and all relevant District safety guidelines or policies.
Primarily works within the DSC-IT office. May require travel to other schools or district locations.
May require on-call hours, or off-hour work to address system issues or perform system upgrades outside of normal school hours.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Specific training or job experience required before appointment) : Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
1 - 2 years of experience with computer technology systems or a related field.
Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, data systems, and networking. Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Apple OS-X) network protocols, and security practices. Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
2. Understanding of Google Applications, Schoology, Microsoft Applications.
