Responsibilities
• Teach 18 credits per academic year, including courses in arts education.• Supervise school-based/clinical placements for teacher candidates.• Serve as the co-coordinator for arts teacher education programs.• Advise and support arts teacher candidates.• Collaborate with the Office of Teacher Education on program assessment and student licensing.• Contribute to program development, scheduling, and recruitment efforts.• Collaborate with marketing and communication efforts.• Engage in service and outreach activities within the department, college, and community.
Requirements
• Master's degree for teaching specialist position; PhD required for Lecturer position.• Current K-12 license in dance, theatre arts, or visual arts.• Minimum 3 years of experience as an arts teacher in K-12 classrooms.• Commitment to equity, access, and diversity.• Strong oral and written communication skills.
