Job Description:Summary:The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing structural engineering and related technical expertise, primarily for high voltage substation and transmission line facilities. Responsibilities include design and analysis, project management, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, and construction observation. The work may require short-term, out-of-town assignments.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design)Five years of related work experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain PE certification within one yearWork experience with AutoCAD and structural engineering analysis software such as, STAAD Pro, MathCAD, LPile and MFAD, PLS-CADD suiteStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clientsStrong technical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail, accuracy, and completenessA flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needsLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorshipAcceptable driving recordPreferred Qualifications:Seven years of related work experienceMaster's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasisExperience with 3D software such as RevitExperience in the consulting industryStrong technical skills in a wide range of structural analysis and designDemonstrated ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teamsDemonstrated project organization and management skillsA hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers to working primarily from a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Denver, Fort Collins, or Wheat Ridge, Colorado office. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr's needs.Colorado Applicants Only:Compensation:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000-$120,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
