Job Summary: This position is critical to the clinical operation of the College of Dentistry.
Proper management of the Sterilization/Sterile Processing Department ensures appropriate safety and infection control measures are followed for instruments and equipment to be used in direct patient care.
This position: plans, organizes, directs and controls all activities of the department collaborates with all College divisions about their sterilization needs plans staff's daily work schedules provides hands-on assistance in the department to support the operation ensures all staff are following Federal and State regulations and all College and departmental policies and procedures maintains accurate records of equipment and process monitoring supervises all staff which includes training, ensuring all mandatory compliance requirements are met, performance evaluations are completed, etc. administers/manages all fiscal aspects of the department including budget account reconciliations, plans/orders supplies and equipment, etc. Skills /Knowledge/Abilities: Accuracy, attention to detail, hand and finger dexterity and motor skill, knowledge of sterilization and packaging processes and procedures, knowledge of safety hazards, maintaining records/logs and proper chain of command, teamwork, flexibility, positive attitude and behaviors, ability to work in a stressful environment. Must possess or receive C.S.P.M. (Certified Sterile Processing Manager) certification within two years of employment.

Required License/Registration/Certification : Certified Sterile Processing Manager ( CSPM ) certification within 2 years of employment
Preferred Education/Experience: Experience in Management, supervision, and/or sterile processing in a dental setting preferred.
