Georgia-Pacific is seeking a safety-oriented individual to join our team as a 1 st Class Electrical and Instrumentation (E & I) Technician at our Crossett, Ark. facility. This position creates value by supporting the operation and maintenance of Electrical, Instrumentation, PLC and DCS equipment. This position is a key resource to ensuring manufacturing operations run reliably thus maintaining production goals. The pay for this position is $37.64 per hour. The shift for the position is a day shift, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm with flexibility for alternate times, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

What You Will Do Electrical safe work practices and using correct safety equipment for voltage Troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing DCS, PLC and HMI components, motors, A/C and D/C VFD's, electrical circuits and MCC starters Repairing, replacing, and installing conduit, wiring and electrical equipment Troubleshooting, calibrating, replacing, and installing instrumentation components and control valves Replacing, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution center breakers Operating HV switches Scanning energized electrical circuitry using infrared technology Working with the Process Control Engineering team to troubleshoot, repair, and replace controls communication networks Troubleshooting process upsets Working with employees at all levels within the organization Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment Set up, climb and work from ladders Work any shift, to include, but not limited to: rotating shifts, variable start times, evenings, weekends, holidays, call-outs and/or overtime Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to sixteen (16) hours in a day
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) At least one (1) of the following: Technical school electrical and instrumentation training and at least three (3) years full-time experience as a journeyman electrical and instrumentation technician Completed an electrical and instrumentation apprenticeship program with three (3) years of full-time experience as a journeyman electrical and instrumentation technician Experience operating mobile equipment to include forklifts, manlifts, utility carts and other equipment as needed
What Will Put You Ahead Experience with power transformer and power distribution (23kv, 12.5kv, 4.16kv, 2.3kv, 480v) Experience with DCS configuration and programming Experience with Modicon and Allen Bradley PLC programming and machine interfaces Experience reading piping and instrumentation diagrams and mechanical / electrical drawings Experience working with computers for record-keeping and documentation function
