Job Title - Sr. Accountant
Location- Remote role, living in the IL area - Must be able to come onsite once a month in the Oak Brook IL area - Should live in the IL area
Salary $75K to $85K area plus benefits
Company relocation - At this time, client will NOT relocate for this role
Key Qualifications: Skills/Qualifications: 3 - 7 years of general accounting experience: month-end close, reconciliations, variance analysis, GAAP Primary owner of commission (revenue share) processes, including daily partner payment file, one-time contractual payments, store opening set-up and store closure procedures
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts is a plus.
Experience with improving processes, identifying opportunities for automation, and having an eye for working smarter.
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Access.
At times during the monthly or year-end financial close additional hours may be required.
Responsibilities


Prepare and record journal entries related to the balance sheet and income statement activity, utilizing and applying knowledge of Accounting to assigned tasks.


Preparing calculations and payment, evaluating new contracts and amendments to understand implications on reporting and preparation, and reporting on status and variances or issues.


Collaborate with other team members to provide guidance and analysis on various commissions/contract-related requests.


Communicate commission statements/reports to partners.


Utilization of strong critical thinking skills to evaluate processes and calculations to identify errors and demonstrates initiative to resolve errors.


Coordinate audit request support with management for internal and external audits.


Reconcile all assigned balance sheet accounts and perform financial statement variance analysis.


Assists/implements company initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.


Create analytical schedules supporting financial statements, audits, initiatives, ad hoc requests, etc.
