SUMMARY:We are seeking an individual to support and contribute to the overall success of our school program. This includes assisting with curriculum improvement, student discipline, staff development, community engagement, policy development, and more.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Advise and assist department leaders and teachers in enhancing curriculum and instruction through observation and access to resources.- Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent student discipline issues and provide support for resolution.- Identify areas for staff development and help create and implement training programs.- Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.- Assist with communications to parents, community members, and develop programs to involve them in the school program.- Help identify areas where policy or change is needed and work with staff to develop and evaluate these policies.- Collaborate with the principal and school committees to identify ways to improve the school program.- Maintain a calendar of school activities.- Conduct research, develop reports, and complete questionnaires and surveys.- Manage assigned staff, assign responsibilities, resolve issues, and provide training and evaluations.- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment.- Promote harmony and productivity in the workplace. QUALIFICATIONS :To perform this role successfully, an individual must have the following qualifications :- Master's Degree in Education or a related field.- At least two years of professional teaching experience.- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.- Valid driver's license.- Principal's license from the State of Minnesota.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:- Familiarity with district policies and procedures.- Understanding of curriculum requirements and learning objectives.- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing public education.- Skills in resource management, strategic planning, budgeting, and employee supervision.- Familiarity with local community resources and training programs.- Proficiency in computer applications.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Commitment to the district's mission and core values.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:- Knowledge of Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education.- Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices.- Strong understanding of Individual Disability Education Act and MN State regulations of Special Education.- Skills in implementing MTSS interventions and supporting inclusive practices.- Abilities in conducting comprehensive evaluations and developing behavior support plans.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:- Mobility to work in an office setting and use standard office equipment.- Stamina to sit for extended periods of time.- Strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.- Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.- Hearing and speech to communicate effectively.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:This position is based in an office setting within a school building.
