Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Staff Posted On: Wed May 8 2024 Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program.  The successful candidate must have an extensive background in a multitude of the following: traditional and NC machine tool processes, CAD/CAM file conversion and, machine repair/ maintenance. Two years of U.S. industrial work experience required. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, preventative maintenance, budget tracking, bidding, and purchase orders, as well as supervising students engaged in project-based learning activities in the laboratories. These duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive.  Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Maintain and supervise laboratories with emphasis specifically those labs supporting Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Maintain and repair equipment, including troubleshooting and calibration, as well as provide recommendations for new and or upgraded equipment/ instrumentation as needed. Oversee laboratory safety for students and student workers. Assist students with curricular and extracurricular projects, in a project-based learning environment. Support other activities as assigned by the Director of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Assist with equipment specification, bidding and purchasing/ ordering of expendable and major equipment. Job Requirements: Associate's degree or equivalent work experience (2 years of full-time work) required in manufacturing, technology, or maintenance. A minimum of two years of U.S. industrial work experience.  Must have a background in a multitude of the following: Machine repair/ maintenance Traditional machine tool processes Instrumentation Automation Electronics Safety/SDS Additional Information: Salary: $50,000-$60,000 Kentucky state law requires all public institutions of postsecondary education to conduct pre-employment criminal background checks to determine suitability for employment.
