. Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for HVACR Specialist I, UNLV Thomas and Mack, Facility Maintenance [R0142425]
ROLE of the POSITION
The major purpose of this position is assist with the handling of HVAC needs for two event facilities and nine athletic facilities to include: working knowledge of tools and test equipment used in heating, air conditioning/refrigeration repair, ability to perform electrical, plumbing and welding tasks associated with heating, air conditioning and refrigeration operation and ability to read and interpret equipment service manuals and technical references. In addition this position will learn the programs for the Alerton building automation software. This position will be scheduled non-standard/innovative workweeks as dictated by event and facility needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level experience in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment; OR one year of experience as a HVACR Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY
Grade 32 Step 1, salary 52,554.96. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
