The Director of the Lab for Globalization and Shared Prosperity, Professor Nita Rudra, is seeking a Special Assistant to support the handling of daily tasks related to the Lab and other academic work with which she is involved, including but not limited to research tasks and assistance, hosting bi-weekly seminars, planning annual conferences, and assisting with administrative tasks related to her teaching and the Mortara Center.
The Special Assistant will assist with research, manage Professor Rudra's emails and calendar; schedule and attend all Lab and research related meetings as a notetaker; assist with event planning for the Lab and the Mortara Center as needed; and process expense reports and reimbursements.
Expectations include being able to perform duties with limited supervision; deliver high quality work in a timely manner; and work collaboratively with all faculty and students involved with the Lab. Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Special Assistant will report directly to Professor Nita Rudra in the Department of Government, McDonough School of Business, and School of Foreign Service. The position with the Lab furthers GU's mission to promote social justice.
This position has been designated as On-Campus . Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree At least 2 years of relevant research experience and working in an office setting Strong knowledge and work experience with project management and administrative assistance. Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and openness to engaging in iterative and co-constructed research with others Excellent management, analysis, writing skills, and ability to work both independently and in teams in the research process Capacity to connect details and manage multiple workflows Strong professional judgement and cultural capacity in working with diverse groups of practitioners, researchers, and policy makers from multiple country contexts, including those with high-level roles Cover letter and resume required for consideration.
