Flatirons Solutions is hiring a Solution Consultant out of our Boulder, CO office.
At Flatirons, our Solution Consultants play an essential role in our Professional Services organization. You will be responsible for solving client's complex business problems and be able to translate requirements into strategies and solutions. You will work with a large variety of teams across the Flatirons organization to deliver pre and post-sales support, including workshops, demonstrations, education, and upgrade activities. You will wear multiple hats, work closely with our Project Managers, as well as with our customers to capture their business requirements and document those in the form of a solution Blueprint and in User Stories. You will also work closely with our Product teams and Quality Engineers to ensure the highest standard of quality for all client deliverables.
To be successful as a Solution Consultant, you will provide subject matter expertise across our suite of applications. You should have superior technical and interpersonal skills. A good Solution Consultant is inquisitive, analytical, well organized and has the confidence to gain the respect and trust of the customer. This role requires the ability to work in a changeable client-service environment, to be an effective listener and communicator, and to provide creative solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop customer relationships and determine project requirements through client design workshopsWork with clients to understand their business needs, current workflows and relate those back to software capabilitiesIdentify key customer requirements – surface and prioritize conflicting or competing requirementsOwn the Blueprint solution design document, including coordination with the teamCapture business and technical requirements as user stories with acceptance criteriaServe as liaison between the technical team, the customer and Flatirons' stakeholders and end-usersDeliver product demonstrations, in addition to deliver ad-hoc end-user trainingTechnical leadership for a small dynamic delivery team, take responsibility for installation and configuration quality and help drive user acceptance testingRecommend process improvements and opportunities for operational enhancementCompetency

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related discipline or equivalent job experience.Experience from the Aerospace/Airline industry and the ATA iSpec2200 and S1000D data specifications is strongly preferred.Experience working with large-scale, enterprise solutions and/ or structured content authoring is preferred.Must have a minimum of 7 years experience participating in business process change and operations implementation projectsFamiliar with all phases of the development life-cycle, especially the delivery and professional services required to put a solution into operationProject management methodologies for analysis, scoping, requirements gathering, and change managementDevelopment and review of business and technical requirementsHigh level of initiative with the ability to work effectively, independently and collaboratively under broad direction, while juggling multiple competing prioritiesWork closely with cross functional stakeholders to ensure scope, and action item follow throughHave experience working directly with customer stakeholders at all levelsComputer and Technology Skills
