Software Field Application Engineer responsible for customer supportMain interface for customer from program kick off to launch and post-production supportResponsible for software release and troubleshooting customer issues

Responsibilities
• Provide on-site support when requested by customer• Meetings with customers to understand their requirements• Build and improve relationships with key customer contacts• Lead all customer reported issues and ensure resolution• Take lead in communication between customer and internal team• Support customer field trips• Support software baseline creation, release, and integration testing• Coordinate meetings between Hitachi and customer team• Create 8D/5D and Root cause documentation• Provide weekly status to customer on open issues
Requirements
• 7+ years' experience in designing and coding in embedded software using C• 2+ years' experience as a field application engineer/customer support• Experience with microcontrollers (Renesas, Infineon, NXP)• Proficiency in software development tools and test equipment• Knowledge of communication protocols and application domains• Good verbal and written English skills• 50% domestic travel, mostly local• Ability to work independently with minimal direction• Experience with PCs and application software• Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering• Minimum of 5-7 years applicable experience in automotive domain
