The Role
This is position, located in Chicago, IL., and is not eligible for remote work. As a Software Engineer at STEAMe, you will develop software in collaboration with fellow engineers and product managers to contribute to the STEAMe product suite. You will apply your engineering skills across the full tech stack to deliver high quality software.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-motivated Software Engineer to join the STEAMe Engineering team. Our ideal candidate should have interest and experience in developing software with web technologies and an excitement for our mission. Key responsibilities for this role include being able to collaborate with your peers on technical designs and the ability to write, debug, and maintain code within a shared codebase.
Responsibilities
Develop and design software for the full stack of the STEAMe product suite including front end web apps, services, data tools, analytics, and deployment pipelines
Collaborate with fellow engineers and product management on a cross-functional team to build great software for our customers
Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation
Suggest and implement improvements to our development processes
Quickly adapt to new technologies and processes
Participate in agile development ceremonies such as estimation, refinement, and retrospectives
Accurately track and manage assigned project tasks and documentation
Collaborate with your team to produce technical specifications and documentation
Qualifications & Experience
2+ years of enterprise software development experience with a BS in computer science, or 4+ years of enterprise software development experience
Experience developing products with front end web frameworks and languages such as React and Typescript
Experience developing services with back end frameworks, tools, and object oriented languages such as .NET, Node, and C#
Experience with Relational Databases and query languages such as Postgres and SQL
Experience in test driven development and unit testing. Experience with end to end testing frameworks such as Jest and Playwright is a plus.
Experience developing applications for the cloud and leveraging cloud platforms like Azure and AWS to deliver products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable adapting and learning new technologies quickly
Passion for building great software and taking pride in your work
Environmental Job Requirements & Working Conditions This position is based in Chicago, IL. and is not eligible for remote work.
STEAMe is a Hybrid work environment, with 3 days work from home and 2 days in-office work, today on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
