The Role
As the Senior Vice President of Learning & Development at [Confidential], you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive vision for professional development within our member companies. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead initiatives aimed at conceptualizing, implementing, and marketing top-tier professional development programs and courses, driving the industry forward.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a forward-thinking training and development strategy, tailored to the needs of our members.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the professional learning department, fostering a highly effective and collaborative team environment.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to evaluate and enhance existing education offerings, ensuring alignment with member needs.
Identify, develop, and launch new professional development opportunities aligned with organizational objectives and member priorities.
Continuously improve training programs based on feedback, industry trends, and business requirements.
Build a Professional Learning Community to maximize member access to education and career development opportunities.
Lead projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and tracking key performance indicators.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops, employing dynamic presentation skills and effective training methodologies.
Utilize learning management systems and other technological tools to deliver and assess training programs efficiently.
Evaluate and oversee training instructors, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Collaborate with the Workforce Development Committee to enhance industry workforce sustainability and compliance.
Write articles for trade publications to communicate industry-specific workforce and training information.
Promote joint ventures with other organizations to conduct projects and programs as appropriate.
Requirements and Skills
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred, in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.
At least 10+ years of experience in developing and facilitating training for small and large groups, with a focus on adult learning methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and build strong relationships.
Strong executive skills including vision, strategic thinking, and consensus building.
Proven experience in leadership roles within Learning & Development.
Current knowledge of effective adult learning theory and best practices.
Familiarity with e-learning platforms, project management, and budgeting.
Proficiency in MS Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other e-learning technologies.
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Analytical mindset to assess training program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
Ability to develop trusting and collaborative relationships across the organization.
Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and business acumen.
