We are working with farmers to feed more people with fewer resources utilizing an Electric Powertrain to do so. Guardian AG is quickly moving into operationalizing our product and needs someone capable of supporting the rapid transition and growth of our business. This role is for someone who will genuinely enjoy working on large flying robots while contributing to the company's top directives; someone who is hands on and wants to tackle our most difficult technical challenges. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and improvement of our aircraft system. The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. What You Will Do: Generate creative design solutions to address complex problems. Design and integrate components varying from sealed electronics enclosures to full aircraft. chassis and ground support vehicle equipment. Utilize statistical tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function. Utilize Onshape to create detailed models, assemblies, and drawings. Work with Reliability, Quality, and System Test teams on life testing and validation. Prototype parts using in-house equipment (glorious machine shop, composites lab, welding equipment, etc.), skills dependent. Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers for prototyping and low-volume manufacturing. Utilize a PLM system to manage and track the product development process, including documentation control, revision management, and change management. To Be Successful You Will Have: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of experience in product development of mechanical systems Strong 3D CAD capability, preferably using Onshape. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience with ASME Y14.5 Strong design portfolio Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products Strong organizational, communication and prioritization skills Hands-on work ethic and ego-free collaboration skills Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing methods (composites, machining, sheet metal, weldments, thermoplastics, etc.) Additional Qualifications and experience of the ideal Candidate: Experience with composite structure design (carbon fiber, fiberglass)
