TRAVEL REQUIRED: up to 10% , both domestic and international.
EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $74,624 - $102,609 annually
This pay range is for the position's base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.
POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Human Resources Generalist, International will work closely with HR management, other Senior HR Generalists and the Division Management teams to provide a wide range of essential human resource support for approximately 85 employees located at HTA's international subsidiaries, which include Canada, Mexico, Ireland and Israel. Additionally, this position will be responsible for global immigration matters (US and foreign visas, US green cards, etc.) in partnership with inside and outside legal counsel, as well as administering HTA's outbound international assignment program.
The successful candidate will perform activities in the human resources area within all functions of the employee lifecycle to include recruitment, selection, retention, compensation, administration, training, liability with respect to workers compensation and employee relations. The successful candidate will have an understanding of business acumen, human resources practices and processes in support of the overall business operations and results. This position requires flexibility and skill in solving ambiguous and complex business situations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES HR Generalist Support for International Locations: Responsible for providing HR generalist support in the areas of recruitment/retention, employee relations, performance management, compensation, management consulting and recognition initiatives. Proactively engages and collaborates with the business groups to understand their business operations and partners with them and HR Management to provide and implement effective solutions to address business needs. Provide guidance to management, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action and performance improvement counseling. Communicate and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to employment and with company policies and procedures. Partner with division Senior HR generalists and management to conduct recruitment efforts for permanent and temporary hires as needed. Coordinates with local in-country foreign payroll functions as required. Develop and update country-specific policies as needed in collaboration with HR staff, local management, in house legal counsel, and outside legal counsel. Create, inform, educate, and disseminate information on all HR-related programs, policies, and procedures. Work closely with division management and legal counsel to administer leaves of absences, workers' compensation, and other employee matters in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records in HTA's HRIS system, Workday, or outside of Workday as required. Create, update and maintain HR policies and programs for international locations, as well as US policies, based on evaluation of business and compliance needs. May provide US HR support as needed. Global Immigration Support: Administer US immigration programs in coordination with inside and outside counsel (such as green cards, TN visas, L visas, E visas, etc.) and collaborate with HR members as applicable. Administer foreign visa programs, such as Ireland and Israel work visas, in coordination with in house and external legal counsel and HR members as applicable. Act as subject matter expert to HTA management for all immigration related matters. International Assignment and Global Mobility Support: Act as primary point of contact for HTA outbound international assignees and/or for third party international assignment administration vendor. Coordinate communication/information needed between all stakeholders that are involved with outbound international assignments such as members of HR, benefits, payroll, etc. to ensure assignment details and preparations are staged and set up as required. Coordinate tax support of international assignments with payroll and third-party tax preparation vendors. Coordinate one-way (non-international assignment) international relocations. Develop strong relationship with relocation vendors, in order to support international assignments and one-way international relocation. EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration or related field required. PHR/SPHR certification a plus but not required. EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Minimum 7 years of similar HR generalist experience. Solid understanding of local, state and federal employment laws. Knowledge of and experience with foreign employment law is a plus. Previous experience in supporting international operations and working in a global environment. Previous experience with visa administration a plus. Up to 10% travel required, both domestic and international. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Effectively demonstrates HR generalist skills in performance management, compensation, training, employee relations and other related areas. Previous experience in working with and collaborating with legal counsel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven critical thinking and project management skills with an attention to detail and strong time-management. Proficiency using MS Windows applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficiency and knowledge with HRIS systems and technology that support HR related services and data management. Previous experience working in the development and implementation of HR programs and processes. Successful and professional ability to influence and educate employees at all organizational levels. Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities. Ability to work flexible hours, as required, to meet international business operations needs. Self-motivator with ability to work independently and drive projects in an expedient manner. Effectively demonstrates proactive approach including building solid relationships with the business groups that is supported by this position.
