Job summary
Serve as a Senior Engineer within the Construction Materials Testing DepartmentGenerate fees through management and development of client relationshipsReview project specifications, inspection reports, and provide engineering support
Job seniority: director level and above
Responsibilities
• Oversight of inspections and testing of various construction materials• Evaluation of soil bearing capacity and density• Inspection of modular retaining wall construction and structural steel• Evaluation of laboratory data and inspection of foundation installation• Monitoring of asphalt placement• Developing and maintaining client relationships• Participating in marketing and new client development activities• Completing project proposals and estimated costs• Reviewing project specifications and special inspection requirements• Mentoring less experienced staff and technicians
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Project Management• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering• Current standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina or ability to obtain PE licensure through reciprocity• Experience in managing multiple projects, scheduling, and evaluating project budgets• Knowledge of the Upstate development and construction market• Self-motivated and effective time management skills
