Position Summary: As a Senior Data Engineer at Delta Defense, you'll step into a pivotal role on a dynamic, cross-functional team at the forefront of advancing our Enterprise Data Warehouse. You will be responsible for the hands on technical leadership guiding the development of both data and process strategies crucial for our ongoing growth.
More than just contributing, you'll be architecting a business-centric technology solution that supports and enhances our ability to report on KPIs, metrics, and insights that drive decision-making across Delta Defense.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Establish standards for performing data transformations and ensure adherence of rules and requirements for the formats and attributes of data. Develop a standard for data quality by creating, maintaining, and enhancing data profiling methodologies. Establish the use of engineering best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance testing and optimization. Design, develop and implement statistical models to carry out various novel aspects of classification and information extraction from data. Partner directly with the Data Architecture team to ensure quality and consistency of the data model. Leverage existing data infrastructure to fulfill all data-related requests, perform necessary data housekeeping, data cleansing, normalization, hashing, and implementation of required data model changes. Analyze data to spot anomalies, trends, and correlate similar data sets. Design, develop, and implement general statistical models. Troubleshoot problems, identify possible solutions, and resolve accordingly. Ensure adherence to risk policies and standards as set forth by the organization. Lead junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship in the development of others. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science/Analysis or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience and certifications. Strong understanding of best practices related to PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and be able to apply them. 2+ years dbt experience required. 5+ years of experience in data engineering required. Prior experience executing within cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) required. 2+ years of experience in a business intelligence role desired. Ability to work efficiently with AWS cloud technologies such as S3, EMR required. 5+ years of SQL experience. 3+ years of experience in Agile SDLC. Solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies. Proficiency with Python and scripting languages, 3+ years of experience preferred. Solid understanding of industry standards in analytical data modeling techniques. Salary range $105,000 - $130,000 based on experience. This role is also bonus-eligible for company incentive plan.
