Position Overview: The Senior Category Adviso r is a position on Welch's Walmart Team. This position will support the Category Development Team Lead in maintaining Best in Class Category Advisor status with Walmart .
He/she will act as the category expert in the development and implementation of the Walmart modular process for Multi - Serve Juice , as well as using Luminate and S yndicated D ata to craft meaningful insights and engage our customers with collaborat iv e Category D evelopment .
What You'll Do: Display sufficient knowledge of Space Automation Pro to efficiently manage the planogram building process while maintaining /creating databases, scripts , and other tools Utilizes Luminate platform to analyze and discover actionable insights and develops recommendations for implementation. Provides point of view and recommended action plans Provides leadership, direction and consultation to the Walmart Category Buyer in support of the Buyer's C ategory distribution objectives , merchandising, and SKU optimization. Provides direction and advice to Walmart Senior Management on Consumer Insights and Market trends Provides weekly score carding to the Category Buyer as follows: category performance, new item performance, promotional performance, cluster performance, inventory (on-hands, in-stock %, etc.), price leadership analysis, and seasonal performance. Provides additional Category Advisor support for Sam's Club, including reporting and developing insights to direct and advi s e Discover & provide actionable insights supporting Walmart Sales team within categories outside Category Advisor P artnerships Management of Luminate & Circana data collection and attribute assignment Other duties may be required in support of customer and Category Development team Who You Are: Knowledge able and skilled i n Luminate , Circana and JDA software in addition to PC-based applications (Excel, Access etc ). Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional analytical and problem - solving skills So lid cr oss -functional management skills Excellent project management skills Understanding of and the ability to execute the category management process Ability to generate innovative approaches and new or improved solutions to business issues Ability to anticipate trends, situations , or changing marketing conditions and take appropriate action on a timely basis Ability to grasp/learn complex concepts quickly and independently Ability to interact with Senior Management in an advisory status Proven ability to influence and direct in a consultative environment. Idea leadership aligned t o future consumer trends What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree is required . An equivalent combination of education and experience that proves ability to perform the role may be considered. 5-7 years of previous experience in sales, category management, or as a category analyst , with significant responsibilities in the application of consumer insights, category management and shelf layout is required . E xcellent capabilities in the use of Space Automation Pro and syndicated data platforms. 2+ years of JDA Software experience and demonstrated proficiencies specific to Prospace , Space Automation Pro , script writing, database management, etc. At Welch's we value diversity, a passion for what you do, and a commitment to continuous learning.
