A nationwide manufacturing group in business for over 50 years is experiencing growth and seeking a talented professional to fill a newly created Senior Accountant role. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this Senior Accountant position involves a combination of strategic financial analysis, accounting expertise, and collaboration with various departments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, a deep understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to contribute to the achievement of our financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making through variance analysis and forecasting.
Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.
Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Work closely with various departments to understand business operations and provide financial support.
Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
Support the preparation of federal and state income tax filings.
Stay current on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry or public accounting working with manufacturers.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
