**Overview** Affordable Care is seeking a Senior Accountant reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant is responsible for various accounting operations of the company, including closing the books, financial reporting, financial analysis, and account reconciliations. Additional details on the role: Have experience using and/or the ability to quickly learn how to navigate variousfinancial systems. Must be an efficient Microsoft user (focus on excel). Use outstanding interpersonal skills to influence through relationship building, business insights, and critical thinking. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, ability to roll up their sleeves, and the passionate desire to drive results. Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision. **Responsibilities** + Perform month-end accounting close activities including financial analysis, journal entries, and accruals. + Prepare and record entries by compiling and analyzing account information. + Reconcile balance sheet accounts including supporting statements or other documents. + Investigates variances between actual results, prior periods, and forecasts. + Prepares data and analysis for the external auditors. + Maintains continuous improvement and team mindset. + Maintains internal controls and compliance with company policies and with GAAP + Assumes additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed or directed. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Accounting + Minimum 2-3 years general ledger accounting experience performing monthly close duties and objectives. + Superior analytical and problem-solving skills + Ability to meet a constant stream of hard deadlines. + Work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees + Strong attention to detail + Highly detail-oriented and organized. + Advanced Microsoft Office skills. High proficiency with MS Excel is required. + Experience with accounting software and programs, Great Plains and Alteryx experience desirable.
