School Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide care for a quadriplegic student who sustained injuries in a highspeed car accident. The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency in ventilator/tracheostomy management as the student is dependent on a vent trach cough assist and suction for respiratory support.
Responsibilities: Provide skilled nursing care to a quadriplegic student with neurologically intact status.
Manage ventilator tracheostomy cough assist and suction devices as per prescribed protocols.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the healthcare provider.
Assist with activities of daily living including feeding via Gtube for overnight feeds.
Perform intermittent straight catheterization every 34 hours to empty the students bladder.
Accompany the student on the bus to and from school ensuring their safety and wellbeing during transportation.
Communicate effectively with the students healthcare team school personnel and parents/guardians regarding the students health status and care needs.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of nursing assessments interventions and outcomes.
Qualifications: Valid nursing license in the state of insert state.
Minimum of insert number years of nursing experience preferably in pediatric or critical care settings.
Certification in ventilator management and tracheostomy care.
Proficiency in performing suctioning cough assist and other respiratory support procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate and patientcentered approach to care.
Flexibility to accommodate variable bus pickup and dropoff times.
Note: The selected candidate will undergo specialized training and orientation to familiarize themselves with the students care plan and specific needs.
