Length of Contract : Full time with Comprehensive Benefits Minimum Requirements: Holds current licensure through the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy with no practice restrictions. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Provides physical therapy services, as identified through the IEP plan, to students with disabilities enrolled in Madison County School District.Administers physical therapy examinations and evaluations to determine a student's level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in such areas as gross motor skill development, mobility at the wheelchair and/or ambulatory levels, positioning, and transitioning to the school environment.Writes evaluation reports identifying school-based student needs; write individualized student goals and objectives as part of the IEP; conducts progress monitoring; participates in IEP meetings.Develops physical therapy treatment plans and goals to improve functional abilities and the enhancement of school-based learning outcomes for the student.Provides students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to develop specific areas of gross motor functioning, mobility, and positioning.Develops physical therapy treatment plans based on the educational goals for eligible students to improve the student's functional abilities within the school and naturalistic settings, in collaboration with the IEP team.Collaborates and coordinates physical therapy goals with the educational program.Provides interpretation of the evaluation reports to parents through the IEP meeting.Adapts equipment to assure proper positioning and to enhance functional performance of the student, addressing the student's neuromusculoskeletal deficits and needs. May include recommendations for purchase of adaptive equipment by the district as needed.Maintain an in-depth knowledge of IDEA laws and State Board policies governing Special Education as they pertain to the delivery of physical therapy services.Maintain necessary continuing education requirements mandatory for licensure in the State.Performs related duties as assigned.
