We are hiring an aide to join the Journey Education team. The Journey aide will provide support to teachers and the overall school to help the schedule run smoothly. Monday through Friday and as needed for special events or activities. Shifts available 6:50 am to 3:00 pm 9:00 am to 5:00 pm 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Journey follows the CCSD 9-month school calendar. Summer hours in June and July are minimal. Position starts at $17.00 an hour. Training August 6-12, 2024, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Normal hours begin August 13, 2024 Key Responsibilities: Supports the classroom teachers by assisting with a variety of tasks in and out of the classroom. Supports the administration and office manager with various tasks. Performs duties that ensure the quality of the school is maintained in excellent condition. Promotes the friendly, safe culture that thrives at Journey. Supervise students in a variety of compacities which may include lunch, recess, extended care, homework class, and classroom academic time. Support and maintain a classroom management system that is loving and creative for students to be engaged and understand expectations. Work with teachers on various tasks, both directly and indirectly with students. Supervise and help students, when necessary, by providing a calm educational atmosphere. Organize and implement well prepared, interactive student activities when responsible for students. Assist in keeping classrooms and school orderly and organized and assure that all areas are cleaned as needed. Fill in as a substitute teacher when necessary. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Professional in appearance and work performance. Ability to work without supervision and as a team. Ability to lead students in a positive, controlled manner. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Basic computer skills and proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong work ethic: willingness to go above and beyond in working with students.
