Are you great with customer service, have cashiering experience, and would like a chance to operate weigh scales? As Scalehouse Finance Specialist you work from the Central County Landfill (4000 Knights Trail Rd. in Nokomis) and provide administrative and operational support for the landfill staff.

Serve as the record manager for the department including copying, electronic scanning, etc.
Serves as the P-Card coordinator for the Department, reconciles receipts, and reviews for completeness.
Request purchase orders by entering information into the county procurement database/processes purchase
orders/invoices/change
orders.
Provide customer service to site visitors and take phone calls.
Operate, troubleshoot, and test computerized scale system and associated software to weigh vehicles, process transactions, for accuracy, and record transactions for landfill sites.
Visually inspects loads of waste to determine the type, amount, and contamination levels of material being delivered, performing the duties of an initial load inspection utilizing landfill spotter certification principles.
Prepares, processes, and records regulatory tracking paperwork for acceptance of regulated wastes such as friable asbestos and waste tires.
Process payments for waste disposal transactions in the form of cash, credit cards, account charges, online payments, and advanced payment accounts. Issues receipt to customers remitting payments and advise advanced payment accounts of account balances.
Balances cash drawer daily, and prepares bank deposits, and/or transfers of cash/checks as needed to ensure the integrity of the financial system.
Enter, retrieve data, and prepare reports from online systems, including banking institutions.
Work Hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Saturday,
7:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Minimum 40 Hours per week.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Two (2) years
of bookkeeping experience and computer experience.
-OR-
One (1) year of college may substitute for one year of experience.
A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with scale systems and scale system software.
