Responsibilities
• Assess patients; assure quality of care and needs of patients assigned• Communicate with patients, physicians, families, and fellow workers• Handle repeated and sudden stress situations• Versed in electrocardiography, drug therapy, and emergency procedures• Understand post-operative recovery procedures and problems• Observe and promote infection control policies• Complete patient charges and nursing notes• Promote patient safety and welfare at all times• Be able to take call• Attend special committee, department, and in-service meetings
Requirements
• Current RN Arkansas license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing• BLS certification• ACLS and PALS certification within one year• Ability to communicate with physicians, hospital personnel, patients, visitors, and families• Pass pharmacology test given by NARMC with a score of 80% or above• Knowledge of methods peculiar to GI Lab or complete on-the-job training• Knowledge of hospital, operating room, and GI Lab policies and procedures• GI certification (beneficial)• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
