Position Overview: Currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Construction Purchasing Agent to join the team. The Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in the construction process by sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to our construction sites.
Responsibilities: Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for residential construction projects. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement. Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to determine project-specific material requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules. Monitor inventory levels and track usage to prevent shortages and minimize waste. Evaluate supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure reliability and quality of materials. Stay informed about industry trends, product developments, and pricing fluctuations. Qualifications: Previous experience in purchasing or procurement within the residential construction industry is highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships. Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems is preferred. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
