Applications are invited for a post-bachelor researcher in Chemistry Education Research at Reed College. This is a full-time, one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and the availability of funding. The successful candidate will be closely mentored by Prof. James, and contribute to on-going projects, including travel to collect data and present at one or more conferences. The successful candidate will also assist with lab management and resource development.
The James lab has a well-equipped office space with workstations, audio-visual recording capabilities, and wet-lab space.
The salary range for this position is between $20-$23/hr. This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) non-exempt position on grade 4 ; pay offers are dependent on experience and are determined in conjunction with an internal pay equity assessment.

What you'll do Contribute to the collection and analysis of qualitative data
Assist with the development and validation of a survey for data collection
Assist with survey data administration, and the collection and analysis of the resulting data
Maintain detailed research records, stored in compliance with ethical research requirements
Assist with day-to-day management and organization of research materials and lab space
Contribute to the development of lab resources such as tutorials on specific research methods
Collaborate with other lab members and contribute to a positive work environment

Qualifications Completed a bachelor's degree in chemistry or psychology by May 14, 2024.
Demonstrated experience with research methods commonly employed in education research
Prior experience conducting human subjects research at a primarily undergraduate institution
