Job Description
Assumes and maintains responsibility for the administration and programming of one patient care unit for an 8-hour period or coordinates and directs the nursing activities for two to four patient care units for an eight-hour period on the assigned shift. Coordinates and directs the activities of nursing staff including allocation, assignment and supervision of staff. These
supervisors provide onsite clinical consultation, perform patient assessments, plan and monitor the therapeutic program, provide crisis intervention, problem solve and conduct staff meetings. Responsible to the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Executive.

Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.



Experience
Two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 or one year equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12 or a Registered Nurse Manager 12.
Alternate Education and Experience Alternate Education and Experience Possession of a master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11; or, possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.
Additional Requirements and Information Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications Possession of a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.



Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.



Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
