Responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materialsEnsuring compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation regulationsPerforming daily inspections and maintaining transportation permits

Responsibilities
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer prior to driving to ensure the safety and integrity of equipment going to designated sites• Review shipment records, manifests, container labeling, and other paperwork for accuracy• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including load weight limits and driver log books• Consult with customers to address load conditions or paperwork inconsistencies• Notify immediate supervisor of any moving violations or accidents• Assist in the loading/unloading of materials at designated sites• Responsible for housekeeping duties• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• High School diploma or GED required• Prior commercial driving experience required• Familiarity with DOT regulations for the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials• Strong team player• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Time management and organizational skills• Strong customer service orientation• Valid Class A, B, or C CDL required• Hazmat endorsement required• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
