The Records Technician I performs routine work pertaining to records requestsRequires accurate typing, database management, and knowledge of agency policiesStrong customer service and communication skills are required

Responsibilities
• Enter and maintain information into databases• Update files and research information• Manage records and provide information to callers and walk-in citizens• Maintain knowledge of agency's policies and procedures• Problem solve and apply statutes to redact confidential information• Build files and accurately log incoming public record requests• Handle various types of record requests• Communicate with citizens in person, via email, and over the phone• Multitask and handle phones, customer window, emails, and USPS mail• Provide correspondence with requesters
Requirements
• High School graduation or equivalent diploma• One year experience in a clerical office environment preferred• Data Entry accuracy score of 75%• Typing speed of 25 wpm• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license• Applicants must be tobacco/nicotine free for six months prior to submitting application and during length of employment
