As a Quality Engineer on our Prototyping team, you will develop systems, methodologies, quality processes, and best practices to guarantee high-quality products in line with standards, drawings, and specifications. You will support projects developed by cross-functional teams where quality results, teamwork, and initiatives measure individual performance.In this role, you will:Spearhead the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), guiding teams in crafting essential quality documents: Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Inspection and Dimensional Reports, Functional Test Reports, Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDO's), Packaging Reports, Part Submission Warrants (PSW's), using tools like Jira and 3DXEstablish procedures and processes that merge prototyping efforts with global quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.), ensuring alignment with international benchmarksAct as the go-to for design review, with a focus on manufacturability and quality for prototypes, spanning one-off items to small-batch productionFormulate Prototyping Quality Plans from design and specification reviews, tailored to the iterative and diverse nature of prototypingSet up IQC, IPQC, and OQC protocols with clear performance metrics, suitable for the fast-paced, multifaceted environment of engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing in prototypingQualificationsBS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering required; diverse skill set across multiple disciplines preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive, semiconductor, or aerospace fields are preferred)Knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentalsBackground in MRB and NCMR handling along with driving SCARs & CAPAs to resolutionExperience in standard quality tools required (FMEA, Control Plan, 8D, SPC, etc.)Basic skills in CAD modelingBonus QualificationsExperience in machine and fabrication shop working environmentExperience using 3DX or other Product Lifecycle Management toolsExperience working in a start-up environment and setting a QMS from scratchCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $210,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
