Title: Quality Assurance Manager - Aerospace Manufacturer
Location: Livonia, MI 48150
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 + 10% Bonus + Relocation $$
Founded in 1948 we are a 125 employee subsidiary of a 2,000 employee global aerospace landing gear manufacturer. We focus on the manufacturing of electromechanical actuators, ball screws & gears that are used by the aerospace & defense markets. Over the past 2 years we've had about a 10% headcount growth as we continue to gain more market share. This Quality Assurance Manager position would have 2 Quality Engineer direct reports along w/ a Documentation Specialist. The main focus of this role (which will be 50/50 split between manufacturing floor & office) is to analyze our scrap, inspection department and quality management system to help create a more streamlined process for our department. What You Will Be Doing Reviews documentation acceptance & rejection records, test results & inspection data and compares findings w/ specs to ensure conformance Develop quality standards & inspection criteria by reading work orders, interpreting blue prints & sample data Submit inspection reports, test findings & production results for review Supervise the inspection & testing activity of department personnel Disposition nonconforming products and determines functionality Develop corrective action procedures & submit recommendations to correct nonconformances Confer w/ suppliers, staff & management re: purchases, inspection results, procedures, product specs, manufacturing capabilities, project status etc Look at quality management system & quality auditors to help simplify the system What You Need for this Position Bachelors in Engineering / Quality is desirable 5+ years of quality assurance & inspection experience in manufacturing experience AS9100 audit experience / certified ideal Good understanding of MRB Machining background exposure is helpful as 80% of plant is machining MS Office Suite, Oracle and Gauge Recall III ideal Ability to have significant influence over the inspection department Understanding of geometric & dimensional tolerancing Strong six sigma / corrective action / continuous improvement background What's In It for You Full Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k w/ matching) and more!
