Interprets organization/customer requirements related to product specifications. Audit quality checks and procedure complianceJOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.Performs and monitors quality checks in all departments to ensure defects do not occur.Performs daily testing for customer products, as requiredDetermines and manages substandard product and raw materials (paperboard) determining what can/should be sold, sorted/reworked or scrappedParticipates in all sort activities (establish sort standards, mentor and monitor temporary employees, SAP entries, and housekeeping)Performs customer and internal sampling requirementsManages quality lab (testing, calibrations, trouble shooting, housekeeping, and training)COA's, EOM reporting, and Color ManagementParticipates in safety and quality behavior-based observations.Must strictly adhere to Graphic Packaging International's Commitment to SQF (Safe Quality Foods) and HACCP Requirements, Food Safety, and Food Defense.Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International's good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and TeamworkFollow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.Other duties as assigned.BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:Manufacturing experience preferredTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.SKILLS:* LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.* MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.* REASONING ABILITY* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.* MECHANICALEDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required1-2 years experience, preferably in manufacturingESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:* Schedules are up to 12-hour. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work upwards of 7 days a week for upwards of 60+ hours per weekStanding, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.Awkward and/or repetitive movementsAbility to stand, bend, and walk frequently (34-66% of the time)Ability to squat, climb, reach above shoulder up to 26", reach at waist or lower, push up to force of 15 lbs, pull, carry, kneel, grasp, sit, finger occasionally (1-33% of the time)Lifting up to 45 lbs occasionally (1-10% of the time)Requires use of both feetRequires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions on a continuous basisRight and left hand coordination is necessaryAbility to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basisReading computer screen or other electronic devicesUse of various hand and electrical tools and equipmentWork in areas of fluctuating temperature and loud noisesPPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net
