RK&K is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Project Manager with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, including extensive knowledge of TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation) regulations and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management, possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and be committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the workplace. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will oversee and coordinate environmental projects, ensuring compliance with TDOT guidelines while fostering an inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of environmental projects, including but not limited to environmental assessments, impact studies, and mitigation strategies.
Ensure strict adherence to TDOT regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, contractors, and government agencies, to coordinate project activities effectively.
Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies for minimizing environmental impacts.
Facilitate the acquisition of necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Develop and manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and optimize project performance.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, environmental organizations, and public agencies, to promote transparency and inclusivity in decision-making processes.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address environmental challenges.
Prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and presentations on project progress, environmental findings, and compliance status for various stakeholders.
Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams, fostering an inclusive work culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in environmental project management, with a strong focus on TDOT projects.
Proven track record of environmental project execution as it relates to transportation projects
Solid understanding of Tennessee environmental regulations, impact assessments, permitting processes, and best practices in environmental management.
Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, promote inclusivity, and foster a positive work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex environmental information to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address environmental challenges effectively.
Proven experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and regulatory bodies.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
A master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field
Professional certifications in environmental management, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), are desirable.
