Know the World, Show the Way ... from Seabed to SpaceAssignment DescriptionASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Program and Business Administration Officers perform a wide range of specialized functions and tasks to support NGA operations and staff. They provide program management and oversight; research, develop, interpret, and implement policies; identify, justify, and manage resources; develop and disseminate data metrics; and manage budget allocation and execution. They collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to executing program responsibilities and resolving problems. They also provide training and advice related to programs, coordinate program information requests, and prepare and disseminate relevant documents (e.g., reports, staff packages, briefings) to address customer needs and to inform effective decision making.Promotion OpportunityPROMOTION OPPORTUNITY: Promotion opportunities allow applicants at all band levels to be considered. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Contract Management, Economics, Finance, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in the provision of program management and oversight, policy and resource management, budget allocation and execution, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in the provision of program management and oversight, policy and resource management, budget allocation and execution, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.Qualifications DesirableDESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1. Demonstrated experience leading the and prioritizing tasks on schedule or within timelines, in an environment where requirements frequently change and timelines can be very short.2. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with pressure, and to maintain calm, optimism, and mission focus.3. Demonstrated ability to communicate and foster relationships with management and customers in support of complex resource issues.4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated with internal, external, and senior audiences.5.
