A Private Kindergarten Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a kindergarten teacher will facilitate the intellectual and social development of the students. Teaching kindergarten includes planning, implementing and assessing students' progress. Education Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or higher degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or child development. A bachelor's degree or higher degree in a related field that includes 18 credits in early childhood education or child development. Related degrees may include elementary education, home economics, child life, psychology, special education or child psychology. A valid Ohio State Teaching License/Certificate that includes kindergarten. 1 - 3 years experience in an educational classroom setting preferred. Private Kindergarten Teacher Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to: Design and follow a complete teaching plan that aligns with the Ohio k-12 teaching standards. Teaching alphabet and numeracy along with personal, social and emotional skills. Organize learning material and resources. Use a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate the children's abilities. Maintain and open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information. Assess students' performance and progress quarterly to ensure that they are mastering the skills on a regular basis. Monitor children's interactions and nurture cooperation and learning. Cooperate with administration staff. Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations. Conduct and Document parent conference biannually. Build relationships with parents and or guardians to ensure exceptional "Customer Service" supplying them with pertinent information.
