Working with design and system architecture teams to identify key system requirements, mitigate the current bottlenecks, and propose novel solutions for a wide range of applications. These activities will entail:Performing system-level simulations of innovative architectures to compare with existing design paradigms, using both open and closed-loop system performance analysis.Developing models of new controllers, components, memory devices, interconnects, and processors.Capturing, benchmarking, analyzing applications and their corresponding memory & storage access patterns.The scope of this analysis will span from the low-level software stack (operating system, drivers, etc.) down to the hardware and firmware controllers. You should have very strong knowledge of computer architecture and deep understanding sophisticated blocks such as caches, interconnects, memory controllers, etc. while working in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for crafting innovative solutions, modeling, and analyzing them to demonstrate their benefits and tradeoffs.Required QualificationsMaster's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering and 8 years relevant experienceSuperb knowledge of computer architecture analysis and design tradeoffsKnowledge of architecture modeling tools and methodologiesKnowledge of large-scale server systems with an emphasis on memory and storage subsystemsExposure to architectures for large sophisticated blocks and measuring their impact at the system-levelIn-depth C/C++ experienceExperience with the C++ Standard Template Library (STL)Ability to quickly react and adapt to changes based on modeling results, or project changesExcellent problem solving and fixing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be highly organized and self-motivatedMust be a strong individual contributor as well as a standout colleaguePreferred QualificationsExperience with computer architecture developmentA strong knowledge through academic coursework or experience in DRAM and NAND memory systems, as well as other memory typesExperience with SystemC and Transaction-Level Modeling (TLM)Experience with PythonExperience in developing memory and storage controller architecture, protocols, DDR, NVDIMM, etc.Exposure to software development practicesExposure to operating system (OS) memory managementThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:$143,000.00 - $311,000.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
