Responsibilities
• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for PreK students.• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children.• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, crafts etc.).• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.• Collaborate with other educators.• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Requirements
• This position is immediate hire with the passing of a background check, completing the required online trainings, providing 3 references, and a physical.• Applicants must have a copy of their HS diploma at a minimum.• Experience teaching in childcare centers and knowledge of DHS rules with at least one year previous teaching experience preferred.• All applicants will receive substantial on the job training once hired.
Key Skills Needed
• Proven experience as a PreK Teacher• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and toddler educational methods• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms• Excellent communication and instructional skills• Friendly and reliable• Balance between creativity and structure• Certification in infant/child CPR• Minimum education level = HS Diploma
